Law Squared Expands National Reach with Perth Office, Key Hires, and Graduate Intake

Its been a milestone month for Law Squared with the opening of our Perth office. Learn more about our expansion below, and how West Australian in-house lawyers stand to benefit. Plus meet our new senior legal hires and the law graduates who are helping drive our growth.

Law Squared has kicked off the new year with exciting growth, welcoming new senior lawyers, celebrating the third cohort of its Graduate Program, and expanding its office footprint, with the opening of a Perth office.

The new Perth office, led by longstanding Law Squared Disputes + Litigation lawyer, Natalie Markovski, strengthens the firm’s national presence and enhances its ability to support in-house legal teams, C-Suite and boards, and people and culture teams across Australian time zones. The firm’s Disputes + Litigation and Energy + Infrastructure practices are the key beneficiaries of the expansion, which Founder + Director, Demetrio Zema, sees as a natural step:

“With the growing need of energy and infrastructure assets and projects in WA, together with the spread of disputes and litigation support we’re providing to insurers, and financiers across Australia, having a dedicated WA presence ensures we can seamlessly guide clients through their varying legal and commercial challenges.”

The firm’s growing in-house legal client base also stand to benefit: “Perth is home to many exceptional in-house lawyers, yet working in-house can feel isolating. At Law Squared, we understand the value of connection. We’re excited to help build a strong local network where in-house lawyers can collaborate, share insights, and tap into the expertise of our national team of in-house specialists,” says Demetrio.

Teaming up with Natalie in WA is Dicky Abraham who recently joined Law Squared’s Disputes + Litigation team and is an Accredited Specialist in Litigation (Vic). Experienced across a broad range of commercial disputes including insurance, contractual, insolvency, shareholder oppression claims and derivative actions disputes, Dicky’s recruitment further strengthens Law Squared’s Disputes + Litigation practice.

Beyond WA, Law Squared has bolstered its corporate M&A capability with Tun Yeo joining the Sydney office. A highly regarded Commercial + Corporate lawyer with over a decade of experience in M&A, funds management matters, shareholder matters and general corporate advisory, Tun was named among Australia’s Best Lawyers under 35 by Australasian Lawyer in 2023. Tun’s experience enhances the firm’s ability to advise on transactions across the business life cycle.

Demetrio says: “Dicky and Tun exemplify the high calibre talent we continue to attract to Law Squared. Their expertise, combined with our unique fixed-fee model, reinforces our ability to provide commercial, cost-effective legal support to our clients.”

Marking the end of a milestone month, the firm also welcomed Maggie Robinson and Adrian Veerasingham through its 2025 Graduate Program. Now in its third year – the Law Squared Graduate program takes a unique approach to selection – eschewing conventional academic transcripts and cover letters in favour of a creative submission-based selection process.

“Watching our 2024 graduate cohort complete their rotations, celebrate Admissions and accept permanent roles within Law Squared has been incredibly rewarding,” says Demetrio. “Our graduates are shaping the future of Law Squared and we’re excited to see this next group thrive.”

With new talent, fresh perspectives, and an expanded national footprint, Law Squared is poised for another dynamic year ahead.
