The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) and global leading Human Centred Law firm, Law Squared, have announced a landmark partnership.

The partnership was officially unveiled during an intimate musical performance and luncheon in London, as part of the MSO’s tour to announce a partnership with the Royal Academy of Music.

Law Squared Founder + Director, Demetrio Zema said at the launch event: “We are honoured to join the MSO as its international legal partner. As a champion of classical music, Law Squared and the MSO share a passion for dedicated practice, exceptional performance and cross-cultural understanding.”

Demetrio said: “My team and I look forward to supporting and working with the MSO executive, management and exceptional team of artists and musicians in bringing one of Melbourne’s most beloved institutions to the world.”

The cornerstone of Victoria’s rich, cultural heritage, the MSO engages with more than 5 million people each year, presenting 180+ public events across live performances, TV, radio and online broadcasts, to audiences in 56 countries.

Renowned for leading the charge to change the conversation people have about lawyers, the MSO x Law Squared partnership aims to drive new audiences, connections and brand engagement for both Law Squared and the MSO at home in Australia, and in the UK.

Founded in Melbourne in 2016 and expanding to the UK in 2022, Law Squared, who also have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, as well as London, provide multi-national and growth businesses with multi-jurisdictional legal support across business-critical areas, including: Corporate + Commercial, Employment + Workplace Relations, Privacy + Cyber, Disputes + Litigation and Digital + Innovation.

“Since expanding to London just last year, Law Squared have already made their mark connecting and supporting other Australian businesses in the UK,” said MSO Managing Director, Sophie Galaise, “This makes them the ideal partner to help us amplify our reach to a new generation of enthusiastic, internationally mobile, young professionals.”

“Demetrio and the Law Squared team have a track record of providing robust commercial governance and market entry support to the corporate and not-for-profit sector, and we look forward to working with them during this exciting period of innovation and growth for the MSO,” Galaise said.

“The MSO was the first Australian orchestra to tour internationally, and it is fitting that we can now partner with Law Squared, another world-class organisation that recognises the importance of cross-border collaboration and engagement.”

Under the two-year partnership agreement, Law Squared will become the Orchestra’s International Law Firm partner, providing legal counsel support to the MSO, and working together to create memorable engagement opportunities for clients, patrons and new audiences.
