Georgie is an experienced corporate/commercial lawyer and in-house specialist, with extensive cross-jurisdictional legal and business expertise.
Georgie has spent the majority of her 15 year legal career working in complex, dynamic corporate environments, including a prominent Australian software company and more recently as General Counsel and Company Secretary for a leading global derivatives broker, where she was also a member of the executive committee. She has advised boards, executive teams and other stakeholders on a wide range of general commercial law matters, contract drafting and negotiations, financial services regulation, privacy and cybersecurity issues, corporate governance/company secretarial matters and risk management.
Georgie brings her deep understanding of the challenges faced by in-house legal teams coupled with her executive leadership experience to the role of LSaaS Coordinator. She champions the role of in-house counsel as pivotal strategic business partners and facilitators, as well as providers of legal services. She believes that fostering strong relationships, maintaining clear communication and embracing adaptability are essential to achieving successful outcomes for both legal and commercial stakeholders.
Having worked in both established teams as well as a sole legal counsel, Georgie appreciates the diverse resourcing needs within the in-house community and the challenges of meeting those needs within time and budget constraints. She’s committed to understand clients’ businesses and ways of working and delivering bespoke solutions that align with their specific requirements. She’s also passionate about building teams and developing her leadership skills, both professionally and in broader contexts beyond the workplace.
