Building a Future in Legal Innovation: Law Squared Adds Key Talent to Team
Law Squared is pleased to announce two key appointments this week in in-house legal specialist, Georgina (Georgie) Gane and legal entrepreneur and corporate lawyer, Rohan Bilimoria. These newly created roles underscore the firm’s commitment to growth and the increasing demand from General Counsels (GCs) for Law Squared’s innovative and human centred legal engagement models.
Since launching its Law Squared as a Service (LSaaS) offering in late 2019, Law Squared has established itself as a leader in alternative legal services, understanding how in-house legal teams can unlock value for their businesses and supporting them with their busy workloads in an innovative and cost-effective way. A continuous uplift in demand for this offering has led to the appointment of Georgie and Rohan to continue scaling LSaaS.
Georgie brings over 15 years of legal experience to Law Squared, including in roles at MYOB and as General Counsel and Company Secretary for Pepperstone, and will oversee LSaaS. Her expertise includes advising boards and executive teams on general commercial law matters, contract negotiations, financial services regulation, privacy and cybersecurity issues, corporate governance, and risk management.
Of the LSaaS offering, Law Squared Founder + Director, Demetrio Zema says: “LSaaS has grown from strength to strength as GCs search for true alternatives to the traditional secondee and contractor models or seek to navigate hiring freezes and a tight talent market. Georgie's understanding of the cost certainty and flexibility needs of in-house counsel uniquely qualify her to take responsibility for this flagship solution, bridging legal expertise and commercial impact.”
In her new role, Georgie takes over from corporate + commercial lawyer, Alexandra Geelan, who will focus on the firm’s growing needs and demands in the UK, as well as Law Squared’s multi-jurisdictional offering from her base in the London office.
Legal entrepreneur and founder of global legal community, Law Ninjas, Rohan Bilimoria, also joins Law Squared as Global Community Development lead. An experienced lawyer, with stints at Magic Circle and US law firms and Fortune 500 companies in London, Moscow, New Delhi, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo, Rohan has previously worked with Linklaters, Mayer Brown, KFC and Pizza Hut, Westpac, and most recently Deutsche Bank.
On Rohan’s appointment, Demetrio says: “Rohan’s vision and energy have seen Law Ninjas become one of the fastest growing professional networks for in-house counsel in the world. In this newly created role, Rohan will continue to champion Law Squared’s commitment to supporting and strengthening its community of in-house lawyers and ensure we continue to build a responsive, strategic professional service offering for the legal community in Australia, the UK and New Zealand.”
Earlier this year Law Squared announced a partnership with Law Ninjas to host The UK GC Summit in London on Tuesday 21 May 2024. Dedicated to lifting commercial practice at the highest levels, the event has already attracted a stellar line up of Heads of Legal from the UK legal community.
